Made an account on #
zap to check it out in combination with other fediverse systems. Since it has nomadic identity anyway I can try it out on another server and move to my own one if I ever set one up.
It seems tricky to find all the options to use, but I have the advantage that I already know the triple/quadruple slide-out / drop-down menu system from Friendica. It is all very similar. I could just copy paste the profile fields from Friendica... Using it on chrome on mobile has some weird effects wrt scrolling and the rich text editor behaves differently from what I'd expect. But like Friendica and Socialhome you can make properly formatted posts, which in Pleroma only works with limitations and tricks (and in Mastodon not at all).
- Following a zap account from Pleroma fails, but that's on the Pleroma side and the same as with Peertube.
- The affinity slider / friend zoom is a fun concept. Let's see how I can use it.
- The post audience is very fine grained. You can direct posts to lists of contacts or to individuals, or to everybody.
- There's a lot of add-ons you can (have to) enable. E.g. on mobile you won't have search until you add an add-on.
This will be the first public post. DMs to myself on other servers worked fine.
